Suzanne M. Johnston

Suzanne M. Johnston is a Master Teacher/Choreographer/Dance Coach/and Founder of The New Mexico Ballet Company. She toured with several ballet companies and on Broadway worked for Jerome Robbins and Agnes de Mille as a featured dancer. Suzanne has trained more than fifty dancers who have danced professionally throughout the world. She was formally on the faculty of the University of New Mexico Theatre and Dance Department, where she taught Advanced Ballet and is currently on the faculty of Dance Theatre Southwest and Fishback Studio of Dance in Albuquerque. In addition to NMBC, Suzanne also founded The Suzanne Concert Dancers, The Knoxville Ballet Company in Tennessee and the UNM Loboettes. In previous years, Suzanne has been listed in “Who’s Who” as “Outstanding Woman in the West” (Library of Congress Catalogue #49-48186). Suzanne M. Johnston is the recipient of the BRAVOS 2008 Award for Excellence in DANCE, from the Arts Alliance Annual Bravo Awards in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
